Virtual Arkansas Concurrent Credit Campus

We are an Arkansas-based program that is implemented through a partnership between the Arkansas Department of Education and the Arkansas Education Service Cooperatives. We provide an array of quality digital courses to public school students in Arkansas and utilize Arkansas licensed instructors. Virtual Arkansas serves approximately 200 districts and over 30,000 student registrations. We are not an online high school or a diploma-granting institution but are a resource for supplementing education for public school students. Students who are enrolled in a public school may be enrolled in Virtual Arkansas courses by the local school administration.

Virtual Arkansas' concurrent campus, Virtual Arkansas' concurrent campus, Arkansas Early College High School, provides opportunities for students to earn college credit while simultaneously earning high school credits. We partner with Arkansas Tech University to provide college credit for courses offered. The following courses are available for concurrent credit through the concurrent credit campus: Comp I and II, U.S. History to 1877, U.S. History since 1877, World History to 1500, World History since 1500, Beginning Spanish I and II, Public Speaking, Experiencing Art, College Math, and College Algebra. These courses are listed on the Arkansas Course Transfer System; therefore, college credits earned for these can be transferred to any public college or university in Arkansas.

All instructors All instructors maintain current Arkansas teacher certification and meet the state qualifications for teaching concurrent classes. Each instructor also has required approval from ATU to teach concurrent courses offered.

Virtual Arkansas full service courses provide access to an Arkansas certified instructor and aligned curriculum within a modified blended learning environment. We utilize web-based applications to deliver courses in an equitable, efficient, and effective manner. Students spend most of their time engaged with the interactive online curriculum. Students also are able to engage with their instructor using a web-based application that transmits audio, video, content, and chats. Our courses are online courses, but we provide access to the instructor on a regular basis.
