Welcome To Virtual Arkansas!
What is Virtual Arkansas? VA provides an array of blended courses to 9-12th grade public school students in Arkansas. We are not a diploma-granting institution but are a resource for supplementing education for public school students. Students who are enrolled in a public school may be enrolled in Virtual Arkansas courses by the local school administration.
We provide quality content and Arkansas licensed, highly qualified instructors to public school when they
- face a teacher shortage,
- wish to provide additional course scheduling opportunities to students,
- wish to provide an opportunity for students to access an enriched curriculum and additional courses beyond those mandated by the Standards for Accreditation of Arkansas Public Schools.
What is blended learning? Blended learning combines the best of online teaching and learning with the best of face-to-face teaching and learning.
How are Virtual Arkansas courses delivered? VA utilizes web-based applications to deliver courses in an equitable, efficient, and effective manner. Three days a week, students are given access to a rigorous, Common Core State Standards and iNACOLaligned course that is media-rich and tailored to their needs. Two days a week, students are engaged with their instructor using a web-based application that transmits audio, video, content, and chats.
