Software Requirements
Beginning Summer 2026, Virtual Arkansas will transition away from the use of Respondus LockDown Browser (LDB) for assessments.
Students are required to have the following software installed on their devices. Please be sure to visit the links for Zoom and Respondus, especially, to understand the various requirements and best practices associated with each one.
Students may be required to use the following software:
- PDF Reader (Adobe Acrobat Reader, Chrome PDF Viewer, etc.)
- Media Player (Quicktime, Windows Media Player, or VLC)
- Microsoft Office/Google Workspace (or any similar application suite: Word Processor, Spreadsheet, Presentation Tools, etc. )
Whitelist Requirements (v. 06-2026)
The following primary domain URLs should be whitelisted to help prevent your filter from blocking resources that are utilized in Virtual Arkansas courses. This list will be updated, as required.

The following domain URLs should be whitelisted to help ensure that your students receive Virtual Arkansas communications, If using Google Admin Console, you can find this available at Apps > Google Workspace > Settings for Gmail > Manage address list and add the following to a list there:

- google.com (Google Forms replies may come from forms-receipts-noreply@google.com if you'd rather try just adding that first)
