MATHEMATICS GRADE 8
Course Number: 388310
Mathematics skills will continue to be built upon the foundation of previous learning. Building on a foundation of rational numbers and using them to approximate numbers that are not rational. Solutions and expressions will use numbers under radicals and integer exponents. Explore the connections between lines and linear equations including simultaneous linear equations. Evaluate and compare functions while using them to model relationships between quantities. Use models to describe transformations and understand congruence and similarity in a sequence. In real-world situations and mathematical problems, the Pythagorean Theorem will find side lengths and distances in right triangles and volume formulas will be applied to cylinders, cones, and spheres. Use bivariate data and linear models to investigate patterns of association and make predictions.
