Course Number: 450000
Visual Art Foundations I is a two-semester course designed to teach students to apply the elements of art and the principles of design to the creative process. Students are expected to use a variety of media, techniques, processes and tools to compose original works of art that demonstrate understanding of the elements of art and principles of design, awareness of aesthetic concerns and the ability to communicate ideas through artwork. Students will critique and reflect on their artwork and the art of others. Students will exhibit artwork and will assemble portfolios that demonstrate successful completion of Visual Art Foundations I student learning expectations.
